A Sunday Sh*tstorm

Sunday morning, we awake ready to have a nice relaxing day. Wrong. Pepper's poor tummy had different plans for our fate. I took her outside, waited 20 minutes in the rain, for her to do nothing. We went back inside for me to discover that she had pooped and peed all over her kennel during the night.
Once inside, she started puking throughout the living room and kitchen, until only foamy bile was left. We quarantined her off into the kitchen (no carpet in danger), using a baby gate from when she was a puppy. I laid a towel down and we sat on the floor with her, trying to comfort out pup in obvious discomfort. She climbed into my lap, pressed against me shaking, and pooped all over my lap. That would be the first time in the day I was sh*t on.
Tummy problems are actually a common symptom when dogs are in heat, however, once she started puking bloody pile we immediately took her to the ER.
After talking to the vet, we decided to get an ultrasound done (vs. an X-Ray), to see if there was something wrong with her stomach. Garrett and I left her there to be treated, and went to get coffee and read across the street.
2 hours later, they found nothing with the ultrasound, but treated her for dehydration, nausea, and diarrhea.
Our baby girl with her grand personality, gave us the silent treatment the whole way home. This is very unusual for her, but she was pissed we left her alone to get poked and prodded. She now has a shaved tummy, due to the ultrasound, and looks super goofy.
Later that night, I was sitting on the couch and little girl decided to sit on the back of the couch, above my head. I looked up at her to see her squatting, and she had diarrhea all over me and the couch under us. It was disgusting, like being in the splash zone at SeaWorld...but poop. Our house was a complete war zone.
Fast forward to this week, Pepper has been eating and looks to be back to herself. The meds are working great, but maybe too good because now she's constipated. Our house is a gas bomb of puppy farts, but hey it's better than poop and puke everywhere. She finally pooped today! Granted, it was on Garrett's flip flops inside the house, BUT it looked healthy! Yay puppy poop!
